Wat Up This Anthony,Giving you info on how the wrestling season is going,everybody is having a great season,my brother Kewaun Smith is undeafeated,Also Armani Bell is undeafeated,And Terrance Denham is undeafeated,Jeff Bugsy And Me are also having a good season.We have a couple matches left in the season,i wish everybody luck for the whole season especially when we attend the tournament.
The American-Dream: Is it for Everyone? By: LaKeisha Price
Is the American Dream for everyone? It should be, but social, political, and economic challenges prevent people from achieving the American Dream. Social difficulties are the results of racial tensions, political issues including the government balance of power, and economic tensions such as the distribution of money and land. The American Dream is to achieve economic success, social equality and acceptance, and a political evolution where the government can asset more. In Let America be America Again, by Langston Hughes have many social and economic problems. None of the races had equality because the rich white men had the land and did not share. As Hughes says “Equality is in the air we breathe (there’s never been equality for me nor freedom in this “homeland of the free”)” (Hughes, pg.1). This quote is ironic because there is tension between the ideal and reality. The ideal of the American Dream is that opportunity is real and life is free. The reality is blacks bear slavery’s scars, poor whites are marginalized, and Native Americans are driven from their land. Thus people are not equal at all. For most people the land was not free, because it was a dog-eat-dog world. However these group need to activate the ideal of the American Dream. America’s Impossible Dream: A House by Jennifer Loven showed multiple economic issues dealing with the American Dream. The problem was that land prices were going up and most families’ incomes were too low to buy a house or apartment. “Escalating land prices made it less profitable to build new low- and moderate- price housing”. (Loving, pg. 254). People with low income could not afford most homes. For example, janitors and salespeople often have difficulty obtaining homes. Congress made small changes this year that could help make housing affordable. To the author, the American Dream is to be able to own a house, make ends meet, and to provide thing you need and want. In Upward Mobility by David Francis there were numerous political, economic, and social issues. For example, “Economists in the past have underestimated the barriers to the children of the poor getting ahead.” (Francis, pg.1). This statement indicates that social and economic barriers keep the poor from getting ahead. In America culture, since economists underestimate this problem the remedies are more difficult to execute. The rich parent stays rich and the children of the poor remains poor. Also, the poor lacking confidence in their ability to rise out of poverty. Socially blacks must often face racial prejudice. A political issue is that President Bush proposed $674 billion in tax cuts and about 2/3 of savings go to households in the top 5 percent in terms of income. Most Americans still believe their economic/social system is fair. The reality American Dream to the author is that the rich will remain rich, while the poor remain poor; it will be difficult for poor to rise above their economic circumstances. Is the American Dream for everyone? No, but it could be if social, economic, and political activity was equal to all. If it was not dog-eat-dog world and barriers did not exist to keep the poor in poverty, more people could access the American Dream. Secondly, it would be if possible if it was not for economic issues where land is not free, pricing did not keep going up, and the economic system was fair. Also, things would be better if it was not for the political issues where Congress keeps making more changes and the President would give some of the money to the poor. America has the potential to be the land of opportunity, but due to these circumstances it has not yet achieved this goal.

Well my fellow seniors it is time. We graduate in four months, and before that time we have a lot to do. With upcpmming Senior picture, our luncheon, prom, finals, and finally GRADUATION!!!!! Well let me help you out and keep you postdated on our events. For all of you who don't know our Senior Picture day is February 19th and 20th. It goes by your last name in your divison. So come so off those good looks for the camera of a picture of your Senior year, one to always remember so make sure you dress to impress. We have a luncheon sometime comming up soon the event is to be announced soon. We havent heard much yet, so as soon as I find out you will to. PROM the last dance of our high schol life. Prom is May 22nd 7p.m. until 12a.m. So I hope you are thinking about your colors I know I am, I can't wait. Make sure if you decide to book a hotel party you do it ASAP because there are a lot of other proms that night and you might not be able to get a room. So plan ahead and get your things and bussiness taken care of.And good luck to you. FINALS a word I have been dreading for the longest. Yup we have finals after prom, so we still have to come back to school to complete our high school year. WOW I hope you study STUDY STUDY!!!!Because it will help you in completing the test succesfully. GRADUATION 2009 BABY WE ARE UP OUTTA HERE!!!!! June 3rd we graduate from high school. At 10a.m. the moring of the begging of our new lives. College is just around the corner. So I hope you got all you information in before the dead lines and keep sending them out, get those scholarships and finical aid forms in check. Keep it moving and don't go back, my a future not a past. SO IN ALL THIS GOOD LUCK MY SENIORS!!!!!!!!
